The bowling game that comes with 'Wii Sports' is much better than this game. The characters repeat the same lines over and over again after each roll.
and figured even it was mediocre, it would be worth the price. I picked this game up in the 'bargain bin' for $[.].
The graphics are fair, but the gameplay and sound are horrid. I was wrong.
The game is truly one of the video games I've ever played. It gets to the point that you have to turn the sound off.
Avoid at any cost.
I have played most of the other bowling games on the Wii and this one is far the best one. Most other people who gave this game a bad review has never played real bowling and I can tell you this that this game comes very close to the real thing, so pick this game up now and enjoy it.
I like the reality of the look of the lanes and the people. However, the bowling is not as good as the original WII bowling as the ball always goes the same direction. It doesn't seem to matter which way you try to aim the remote. Also the repetitive comments by the bowler is a little annoying.
I thought the game would be a switch from the WiiSports bowling that came with the system. Hwever, it did make me work on being able to bowl straight. It was a switch. I could do without all the extra commentary from the person selected to bowl in between frames. On this game I seem to have a wicked curve on the ball and had to keep adjusting to be able to hit the pins. Once I achieved that goal, the game wasn't too bad.
What is that about. The first thing that puzzled me about this was it uses the direction pad and buttons, and doesn't utilize the touch pad at all. Why is there no option for the regular frame length. The character system is boring, tho kids might like it, but the whole process of this thing is just not needed for a bowling game. Selecting how far left or right to stand and pressing a button once to start your power meter and then press it again at the level of power you want, is just really boring for a ten pin bowling game. The other thing is the amount of bowls, you bowl I think 5 frames, and that is the game. You can unlock a few more lanes, I think there is 8 in total, and each of them lose there fun factor after the first frame, as you see it when you first go to bowl, but once the ball is in motion, it's just the lane, there is not much point to that really, but i'm sure some people will find it cool.Overall, it's the control system that bugs me, it is just too repetitive and once you figure it out, it's just the same thing every single frame you bowl. ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz, and that's not a fly buzzing, it's me snoring from playing a game that is exclusive to DS and uses such a terrible way to control the throws.
